Dr. Shabtai Sapir
Dr. Shabtai Sapir graduated from the Hebrew University Hadassah School of Dental Medicine in 1995. He then continued to advanced education in Pediatric Dentistry at Hadassah. After completing the 3.5 year program with distinction, Dr. Sapir passed the specialty exam with excellence and became board certified in pediatric dentistry. He served on the Israeli board of examiners in pediatric dentistry for many years. Dr. Sapir remained as part time faculty in Hadassah’s pediatric dentistry department along with working in his high-end private practice. Dr. Sapir also completed a 2 year course in comprehensive Orthodontics in addition to his residency training. After moving to the States, he attended an additional program of dental education at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine for 2 years and graduated at the top of his class. Dr. Sapir was the Associate Program Director and the sedation course director of the
NYU- Lutheran Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program in Providence, RI.
Dr. Sapir is an active member of the American Pediatric Dentistry Association, The American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Association. He has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and is a sought after lecturer to dentists and residents, nationally and internationally on topics such as sedation, trauma, orthodontics and emergency management in the dental office. Over the course of his career, Dr. Sapir was granted numerous awards for excellence in research, teaching, and clinical skills. Most recently he was awarded the Richard C. Pugh Achievement award for exemplary achievement on the May 2016 qualifying examination presented by The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
In his spare time, Dr. Sapir enjoys spending time with his family, training his dog, gardening and fixing things around the house.
